Common Questions about Ordering Medications from Canada

Prices

1. Why are Canadian prescription prices so low?  Prices are low because the Canadian government enforces price controls that limit how much manufacturers can charge for brand name drugs.

2. Why is it cheaper to order a 90-day supply than a 30-day supply?  Each prescription has a built-in dispensing fee, which is the same for a 30 or 90-day supply; thus saving you money on a 90-day quantity.

3. How can I find out the cost and availability of specific medications?  Click on "Drug Prices" or call toll-free: 1-888-431-1924 for a price quote.

4. How much money will I save?  Typical savings are 30-80%, which can be hundreds of dollars per order.

5. What payment methods do you accept?  You can pay with VISA, MASTERCARD & ELECTRONIC CHECKS.  To pay by check, provide your routing & account number or fax a voided check, so that the pharmacy can create an electronic check.

6. Will you accept my insurance?  We are sorry.  No insurance is accepted, but many US insurers will reimburse you if you submit a receipt.

7. Will I get charged a shipping fee for every prescription?  No.  You are charged one shipping fee per parcel, not per prescription.

8. Do you always ship grouped orders together?  Whenever possible.  But there is no guarantee of this.  If orders are not shipped together, you may be charged shipping fees for separate packages.

Prescriptions

1. Is a doctor’s prescription required?  Yes.  You must complete the prescription request form included in your Free packet or online enrollment form to begin the process.

2. Can you fill the prescription from my US doctor?  Yes. Most  legitimate prescriptions are filled; however, not all drugs available in the US are available in Canada.  In addition, the following cannot be filled: altered prescriptions or those for habit forming or narcotic medications, refrigerated products or sleeping pills.

Medications

Why do some drugs have different names in Canada?  Manufacturers may register different trade or brand names in different countries.  Even though a drug may have another name & look different, it has the same active ingredients.  Examples: Prilosec-US & Losec in Canada; or Augmentin-US & Clavulin in Canada.
